DAY ONE
In Hobart you will be met by your "Tasmanian
Retreat" Tours Coach Captain. It's a chocoholics morning with a
visit to Cadbury's chocolate factory.
After
all those chocolates it is now time to bid farewell to Hobart and
follow the Derwent River to New Norfolk, a town often compared to
that of "Kent" in England.
We travel on to Mt. Field National Park to view
Tasmania's best known waterfalls, Russell Falls.
Then it's on to Tarraleah - the massive Power
Station and our wilderness journey to Derwent Bridge in Tasmania's
Central Highlands. Here we see The Wall in the Wilderness.
After this unique experience it is on to the
township of Queenstown, a town that is literally carved out of the
mountains.
Silver Hills Motel is our accommodation for 2
nights with dinner and breakfast.
DAY TWO
Today you can experience the West Coast
Heritage Steam Train for a unique experience through the heart of
Dubbil Barril and the King River or a cruise on the Gordon River and
Hells Gate adventure before returning to Queenstown. |

DAY THREE
Cradle Mountain National Park is our first
stop this morning. Wander in the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre
before joining our shuttle into Dove Lake with a local guide. We
then leave the wilderness for Sheffield, the famous town of murals.
We make our way to Devonport and our overnight
accommodation with Dinner at the Devonport Motor Inn.
DAY FOUR
On leaving Devonport City we travel to the
historic town of Stanley - now a fishing & tourist village. Catch
the chairlift (own expense) to the top of the "Nut" for an
unprecedented view of the North west coastline or stroll to the
township and enjoy the arts, crafts and history of the village.
Then we travel to Penguin, "Home of the big
Penguin" and continue our journey via the Exeter Highway through the
Delgarth Forest Reserve Pine Plantations to Beauty Point, home of
Seahorse World. Here you will receive a guided tour of an actual
working seahorse farm.
We then travel to Grindelwald, a picturesque Swiss
Village nestled in the rolling hills of the Tamar Valley. Enjoy an
afternoon tea stop at Grindelwald (own cost) while we take in the
spectacular surroundings. Brady's Lookout with it's panoramic views
of the Tamar Valley is our last stop today before we travel back to
Launceston by approximately 5.00pm.
